What can I expect when traveling to The Bahamas?
Those traveling to The Bahamas from other countries who have been fully vaccinated will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or PCR), taken no more than five (5) days prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas, along with a Bahamas Health Visa.
For unvaccinated travelers, The Bahamian government requires proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test at least five days before traveling to The Bahamas, as well as a Bahamas Health Visa.

What are general COVID-19 related requirements in The Bahamas?

Are guests required to undergo testing upon arrival at Baha Mar?
Baha Mar resort guests who have been vaccinated and have passed the two-week immunity period are exempt from COVID-19 testing when checking in.
For our unvaccinated resort guests, Baha Mar requires those over the age of ten to take a complimentary COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival in an effort to ensure the health and well-being of guests and associates during their stay.
What will this process look like?
We will utilize an area near the front desk where guests will receive a Rapid Antigen test conducted by personnel from Doctor’s Hospital, the premier hospital in The Bahamas. The testing will take place in a semi-private, comfortable setting. Once the test is complete, guests will be directed to check-in.
What happens if a guest tests positive?
If a guest receives a positive rapid antigen test, either upon arrival or anytime during their stay, Baha Mar will follow up with a RT-PCR Test to verify the result, as required by the Ministry of Health’s guidelines in The Bahamas. The individual will then be assessed by Baha Mar’s first responders and EMTs on property that are trained to attend to COVID-19 patients. Exposed areas will undergo extensive deep clean and sanitization procedures along with contact tracing of the individual within the resort. Additionally, anyone guest testing positive will be eligible for Baha Mar’s Travel with Confidence Program.
What is the Travel with Confidence Program?
Baha Mar’s Travel with Confidence Program commits to a resort guest testing positive during their stay that Baha Mar will provide courtesy accommodations and a daily in-room dining credit of $150 per person staying in the room, per day, for up to 14 days following receipt of the positive test result or, if earlier, when the guest receives a negative COVID-19 test result. Should the guest be a U.S. resident and need to return earlier than the required quarantine period, Baha Mar will provide private air travel to return the guest and their immediate family (up to four additional people, occupying the same room as the covered guest) to the U.S. mainland, free of charge.
Who is eligible for the Travel with Confidence program?
The Travel with Confidence program is an initiative Baha Mar is offering guests of the resort who test positive during their stay, but only if Baha Mar was the FIRST destination visited upon entering the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Guests that have been residing on island prior to their visit to Baha Mar will not be eligible to free quarantine accommodations, in-room dining credit, or private air travel to return to the U.S. Guests will be required to provide Baha Mar with a copy of their flight itinerary (the document issued by the airline or travel agency) upon arrival at the resort to verify qualification for the Travel with Confidence program.
What if I am not a U.S. resident?
Guests testing positive who are not U.S. residents will be permitted to quarantine at Baha Mar for up to 14 days, free of charge and receive an in-room dining credit of $150 per person staying in the room, per day during the quarantine period. Baha Mar will attempt to assist these guests with arranging for commercial return flights to their final destination (at their expense), however, non-U.S. residents will not be eligible for private air travel to return to the United States.
How are guests testing positive for COVID 19 able to return to the United States ?
Baha Mar facilitates private air travel for returning U.S. residents by engaging authorized medical evacuation service providers that specialize in COVID-19 patient transport. The carriers for these flights are required to operate using procedures consistent with CDC guidelines.
How many people can quarantine or travel on the private flight with me?
In addition to the guest covered by the Travel with Confidence Program, up to 4 additional persons (occupying the same room as the covered guest) may travel with the guest.
What if part of my immediate family cannot stay in The Bahamas and need to return to the US during my quarantine period?
Baha Mar’s team will attempt to assist any immediate family member with travel arrangements to facilitate a seamless return to their intended destination, at the expense of the immediate family member.
What happens if I receive a negative COVID-19 test result before the end of the 14-day period covered by the Travel with Confidence Program?
Should a guest receive a negative COVID-19 test result before Day 14, the complimentary accommodations and in-room dining credit will cease for the guest and those staying with the guest. Baha Mar will, should the guest desire, attempt to assist in making arrangements for return travel to the originally intended return destination via commercial air travel for the guest and his/her immediate family at the guests’ expense.
Do you have to choose between quarantine and travel?
A guest testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay at Baha Mar may remain on island for the duration of their quarantine period in a room with $150 in-room dining credit per person, per day for up to 14 days (or sooner, if the guest receives a negative COVID-19 test result, prior to the end of the covered 14-day period). Should the guest need to return earlier, Baha Mar will provide U.S. residents with private air travel to return the guest and their immediate family (up to four additional people, occupying the same room as the covered guest) to the U.S., free of charge.
Where will the return flight take me?
Baha Mar’s arrangement of private air travel will take the guest to South Florida. This offer also includes transportation for the guest’s immediate family members (up to 4 people occupying the same room as the covered guest). Baha Mar will endeavor to assist its guests with identifying the required protocols that must be followed after arrival in South Florida.
Where can I use my dining credit?
Baha Mar offers a courtesy of $150 in-room dining credit per person, per day. The unused portion of the daily allowance may not be carried over from day to day.
Do children get $150 per day as well?
During the quarantine period, children under the age of 5 dine free, and any child above the age of 5 will receive the $150 per day benefit.
Will I be able to leave my room during quarantine?
Guests testing positive for COVID-19 will quarantine in a designated room of the hotel they are currently staying. Individuals will not be permitted to enter any public area of the resort but will be able to order meals from select restaurants and receive provisions supporting the upkeep of their room, as well as medical assistance in line with The Bahamas’ and Baha Mar’s health and safety protocols.
What if there are additional costs during quarantine?
By securing The Bahamas Health Travel Visa upon entering the country, all travelers are also purchasing travel insurance that will cover costs should they have to quarantine or require additional medical attention. Does Baha Mar offer on-property return home COVID-19 testing?
As many countries around the world require a negative COVID-19 test before re-entry, including the US and Canada, Baha Mar is focused on making your return home as effortless and safe as possible with our Safe Travels initiative.
For those guests whose country requires proof of a negative Rapid Antigen Test, Baha Mar provides complimentary on-property testing.
For guests whose country requires a negative RT-PCR Test no more than 3 days before their flight departs, Baha Mar offers on-property testing for $112 per person (VAT inclusive).
Will non-hotel guests be allowed to visit the property?

What are protocols and guidelines are in place for associates?
The health and safety of our associates and guests is of utmost importance. Beginning May 1st, Associates who have been vaccinated and have passed the two-week immunity period are exempt from COVID-19 testing. Any unvaccinated Baha Mar employees will undergo COVID-19 testing on weekly basis, along with daily temperature checks, mandatory mask wearing and frequent hand sanitizing to establish a safe and secure work environment. Baha Mar is continuously educating its associates with workplace safety seminars.
Will the casino reopen?
Yes, as the centerpiece of Baha Mar, Baha Mar Casino has brought our dealers and teams back to the floor to allow for gaming 24-hours a day.
What are casino’s cleanliness and safety procedures?
Casino areas will be frequently cleaned and disinfected, including table game areas, slot machines, electronic kiosks, and chairs. Cleaning protocols are also in place for the ongoing sanitation of all gaming equipment and devices. Dice will be sanitized between shooters; chips will be sanitized, and cards will be discarded frequently.
Slot machines and chairs are arranged to allow for appropriate distancing between players, and table games will have a limited number of chairs per table, as required by current guidelines. Limits are currently three players per blackjack table, six players per craps table, and three players per roulette table.
Players and dealers will be required to wear masks during their gaming interaction in order to ensure the health and safety of all involved.

How will restaurants prepare?
The Baha Mar Resort meets all required regulatory food safety guidelines. Associates must undergo extensive training and secure a health certificate issued by the resort before serving guests. Restaurants will reduce the number of tables and increase the space within dining parties to accommodate for social distancing for indoor and outdoor dining.
Menus for events, buffets, bar, pool, and banquet presentations have been modified to reduce risk. Additional training for appropriate team members in food, beverage, pools, events, and banquets covers strict cleanliness, sanitation, food preparation techniques, PPE, and physical distancing awareness.
Can I visit the Spa?
ESPA at Baha Mar will continue to ensure a comfortable and unforgettable experience. Hotel and non-hotel guests are welcome to book reservations at ESPA. Visitors and Residents who have proof of being fully vaccinated and having completed the two-week immunity period are exempt from COVID-19 testing requirements for entry. Is the Royal Blue Golf Course open?
Tee times will be available daily from 8:00am to 1:30pm with 15-minute tee time intervals. All resort guests may make tee times by visiting here.

Is The Current Gallery and Arts Center open?
The Current Gallery and Art Center will welcome registered resort guests for gallery visits, offering indoor and outdoor art classes as well as artisan treasures at the shop.

Will we receive a list of recommended vendors?
Baha Mar will provide a list of preferred vendors for excursions and private charters that have committed to the safety protocols established by the resort. For your wellbeing, we strongly recommend that you work with our approved resources.
What type of excursions will be offered?
Balmoral Island excursions will exclusively open to Baha Mar guests, offering dolphin and stingray encounters along with snorkeling and kayaking activities. All island teams and vessel crews will be required to take weekly rapid tests according to Baha Mar’s health and safety regulations.
Will motorized water sports be available?
Baha Mar will offer non-motorized water sports such as stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, Hobie cats and snorkel gear. The operations of motorized water sports such as jet skis have been temporarily suspended due to government mandates.
Are private boat charters available for island tours and fishing excursions?
Private half-and full-day island and fishing charters will be available by reservation. All Baha Mar approved vendors will follow protocols of rapid testing, and heightened health and safety procedures according to the resort’s standards. At this time, charters will not be permitted to visit islands outside of the New Providence vicinity due to government restrictions on inter-island travel.
Rose Island and Green Cay provide beautiful nearby beach and snorkeling escapes. Charter captains will not be permitted to visit beach bars and restaurants; therefore, all food and beverage provisioning should be made with our on-site partners.
What is Mini Blue?
Just in time for more outdoor fun, Mini Blu Mini Golf, will be added to the wide array of experiences at Baha Mar. This 18-hole putting green is adjacent to the tennis and basketball courts on the southeast (fountain side) of the resort.
Is The Explorers Club open for kids?
– Registered resort guests will be able to enjoy The Explorers Club for kids. The club’s capacity has been reduced and programming has been adjusted, increasing the number of outdoor experiences and reimagining activities through the lens of social distancing. These include:
– Sanctuary excursions
– Private family movie screenings
– Private family cooking classes
– Guests are encouraged to reserve a time at Baha Mar’s Explorers Kids Club here in order to coordinate staggered arrival times for visiting explorers. Guests will be required to sign a waiver prior to visiting the Kids Club.
– Upon arrival, an associate will take each child’s temperature and sanitize hands prior to entering the club.
– While indoors, all staff and children will be required to wear face masks.
– All meals will be accommodated at the Explorers Club outdoor facility to allow for social distancing and alfresco dining.

Does Baha Mar offer babysitting?
Babysitting services can be arranged with 24-hours notice. Parents will be presented with the option to have the associate take a rapid antigen test prior to engaging with the child at an additional cost of $20. Guests shall be required to sign a waiver and release prior to utilizing this service.

No, currently Baha Mar does not offer day passes. The pools and beach are reserved for the privacy of our guests. Is there an additional cost for wi-fi internet? Is it throughout the resort?
There is no additional cost for wireless internet as it is included in the resort fee and the internet is available throughout the entire resort.
Do you have children's activities?
Yes, we offer a number of exciting, educational activities for all ages such as learning about marine and land-based animals at the Beach Sanctuary, Explorers kids club, children’s art classes at The Current and prestigious golf and tennis clinics.

Resort and sport attire is appropriate during the day. Shoes and cover-ups are required in the casino, lobbies and indoor public spaces. For sports including tennis and golf please wear tennis shoes and sport clothing. At the pool swim suits, pool attire and similar apparel are permitted.

What time is check-in and checkout time?
Check-in at the Grand Hyatt is at 4pm and checkout is at 11am (Eastern Standard Time). Rosewood check-in is at 4pm and checkout is at 12noon. SLS check-in is 3pm and checkout is 11am. If leaving after checkout time please let us know 24 hours in advance.
How do I request an early check-in or late checkout?
Based on availability guests can request an early check-in or late check-out. Please note a fee may apply. Contact the hotel’s front desk for further details.
Do you allow pets?
We are happy to welcome your traveling canine companions. To participate in the pet program, please inform the hotel you’ll have a pet (or pets) staying with you at least three days in advance of your arrival. Only dogs that are house broken and do not exceed 50 pounds or two dogs under a combined weight of 75 pounds are permitted. Two dogs per guest room or suite.
To ensure a comfortable visit for all, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:
• A one-time mandatory cleaning fee of $250 is assessed during a 1- 6 night stay.
• A one-time mandatory cleaning fee of $300 is assessed during a stay of 7 nights or more.
• In addition, a credit card must be presented at the time of check in to guarantee against any damages or soiled carpets/soft goods in the room. Damages to the room will be billed on a case-by-case basis.
• Owner will provide a cell phone number in order to locate guest in event of an emergency. Under extreme circumstances dog may be moved to a kennel.
• Dogs must be settled by 9:30pm.
• We regret that pets are not allowed at the golf course or in the food and beverage outlets, health club, or pool areas of the hotel. Service animals are an exception to this policy.
• Dogs must be walked in designated areas.
• Any noise disturbance must be curtailed to ensure the comfort of other guests.
• Room attendants are not allowed to enter guest rooms with pets, unless the occupant is present. For your convenience, please call housekeeping to arrange a suitable time to have your room serviced.

We also offer bocce, croquet and basketball courts for sporting fun for the whole family.

The Racquet Club is a luxurious tennis facility that offers guests the opportunity to play outdoors on either grass, clay or hard surfaces. There are 9 courts in total and it is designed for players of all skill levels. The focus is on fun & fitness! For those looking to perfect their skills pro’s will be available for lessons.

The golf course is located directly across the street, 3 minutes by shuttle. Every 15 minutes our complimentary shuttle picks-up/drops off from the Grand Hyatt drive.

There are no car rental agencies located at the resort however; major car rental providers such as Avis, Hertz and Budget offer services at the Nassau airport LPIA.

I'm renting a car at the airport. How do I get to Baha Mar from the airport?
From the Lynden Pindling International Airport, take John F. Kennedy Dr. east and turn left/north directly to Baha Mar Blvd.

Complimentary self-parking and valet parking services are available 24 hours at the resort.
